Around 4 PM, mud and soil overflowed onto lane 7 Giang Van Minh street and spread throughout the 50-meter-long, 2-meter-wide lane. This is the second mud overflow incident in this lane and the 4th since the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station metro project began its underground section.

Doan Hoang Nam, residing at number 41, lane 7 Giang Van Minh street, said the mud erupted from the lane's drainage system. Within 30 minutes, the watery mud spread rapidly, reaching the edges of people's homes. Residents notified the authorities and relevant units.
Authorities have temporarily barricaded and covered the entrance of the lane with tarpaulins and mobilized mud suction trucks to the scene to address the incident.
Eight months ago, a similar mud overflow incident occurred in lane 7. Authorities and the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board explained that lane 7 Giang Van Minh street lies on the underground section connecting Kim Ma Station (S9) to Cat Linh Station (S10). The underground drilling by the contractor created pressure, pushing mud and soil up from deep underground.
In May, a similar incident caused mud to spill onto the sidewalk and a section of Cat Linh street. Most recently, in the early morning of 6/8, tunnel boring machine (TBM) number 2 caused mud and water to erupt onto the ground at Nui Truc lane.

The 12.5 km Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station metro line includes 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations. The 8.5 km elevated section (Nhon-Cau Giay) and the 4 km underground section (Cau Giay-Hanoi Railway Station) pass through underground stations S8 to S12.
The project, which commenced in 2009, was initially targeted for completion in 2015 but has faced multiple schedule adjustments. On 8/8/2024, the elevated section began commercial operation, with the entire line expected to be completed in 2027.
