Multi-vehicle accident causes 5 km traffic jam on pass connecting Da Lat - Phan Thiet

A truck collided with two cars on Dai Ninh Pass along National Route 28B, leading to prolonged traffic congestion in the area on the afternoon of 23/6.

Around 5 p.m., a truck carrying goods was traveling on National Route 28B from Da Lat to Phan Thiet. As it reached bridge number 4 on Dai Ninh Pass, located in Phan Son commune, the truck collided with two cars traveling in the opposite direction.

At the scene, the truck and a 7-seater car were positioned head-on. A 5-seater car was pinned against the side of the truck. All three vehicles sustained front-end damage.

Nguyen Thanh, a driver who witnessed the incident, stated that the damaged vehicles blocked almost the entire road on a steep curve. This obstruction prevented other vehicles from proceeding, leading to extended congestion at both ends of the pass.

Authorities from Lam Dong province are currently managing the scene and investigating the cause of the accident.

National Route 28B serves as the primary connection between Phan Thiet and Da Lat. Dai Ninh Pass, which stretches over 10 km, is known for frequent accidents and is currently undergoing renovation and upgrade work.
