Electronics store in Ha Tinh catches fire

An electronics store spanning over 500 square meters in the Hoi market area, Cam Xuyen commune, erupted in flames on the afternoon of 23/6, destroying much of its merchandise.

The fire started around 12:20 h at an electronics and refrigeration store in hamlet 13, Cam Xuyen commune. The owner, Nguyen Xuan Cuong, 40, from Cam Due commune, was not inside at the time.

The store, constructed with concrete walls and a corrugated iron roof, housed various electronics and refrigeration products, including refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners. The flames spread quickly, accompanied by loud explosions and dense black smoke rising tens of meters high.

Local police secured the scene, directing people and vehicles to move slowly through the area.

The Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police deployed dozens of firefighters, who used hoses to extinguish the flames. They coordinated with residents to remove belongings and property, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring kiosks and houses.

Due to the presence of many flammable materials inside, the fire intensified, with black smoke rising tens of meters high. *Hung Le*

The hot weather, with temperatures ranging from 37 to 39 degrees Celsius, combined with numerous flammable materials inside, caused the fire to intensify and made firefighting efforts challenging.

By nearly 14:00 h, the blaze was largely contained. Firefighters remained on standby, extinguishing embers to prevent rekindling.

While the fire caused no human casualties, many electronic items were destroyed or damaged, with estimated damages in the billions of VND. The store owner, distraught by the incident, collapsed and was taken to a medical facility by residents for emergency care.

Many electronic devices were damaged, and the store's corrugated iron roof collapsed after the fire. *Hung Le*

Ha Tinh Provincial Police are currently investigating the scene to determine the cause.
