Around 3 PM, a multi-vehicle accident occurred on the expressway, involving a Hanoi-registered passenger bus, a Hung Yen-registered tractor-trailer, a Hanoi-registered tanker truck carrying chemicals, and two cars: a 7-seater Ford Everest (Hanoi registration) and a 4-seater Toyota Vios (also Hanoi registration).

Two people sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Four vehicles were damaged, with the two cars sustaining the most severe damage. The front and rear ends of both were crushed, airbags deployed, and they were wedged between other vehicles.
According to a representative of the bus company, the bus driver noticed traffic congestion ahead and slowed down, coming to a complete stop. The 7-seater Ford Everest following behind was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the bus. Subsequently, another vehicle hit the Ford Everest from behind. The tanker truck and the tractor-trailer then collided with the pile-up, creating a chain reaction.
