Truck crashes into three motorcycles at red light in TP HCM

A dump truck rear-ended three motorcycles stopped at a red light, injuring several people, one seriously, on the morning of 8/9.

Around 9 a.m., a TP HCM-registered dump truck carrying rocks and dirt was traveling on DT 741 highway from the Binh Duong area towards Binh Phuoc. Upon reaching the Ben Tram intersection in Phuoc Hoa commune (formerly Phu Giao district, Binh Duong), the truck plowed into several motorcycles stopped at a red light.

The dump truck dragged one motorcycle for over 20 meters before coming to a stop. Some people were knocked to the side of the road with minor injuries. Motorcycle debris was scattered across the road. A woman around 30 years old was seriously injured and taken to the hospital by bystanders.

The owner of an agricultural supply store across from the accident scene said they heard a loud crash followed by screams. The seriously injured victim appeared to have a broken leg. The truck driver was unharmed.

According to local residents, the intersection is busy and similar accidents are common.

Traffic police were at the scene investigating the cause of the accident.
