Tien Thao, 31, reported to the police on 9/8 that a dentist named Chinh assaulted her with an iron bar, choked her, and smashed her phone at the Tuyet Chinh clinic in Go Vap district.

On 3/9, Thao and a friend went to the clinic to address concerns about persistent pain and suspected bone damage after having braces fitted at the clinic. During the discussion, a dispute arose between Thao and the dentist, Chinh.

According to Thao, while she was waiting, the dentist suddenly attacked her with an iron bar, choked her, and verbally abused her. The dentist then allegedly took Thao's phone and glasses, worth approximately 20 million VND, and smashed them. The entire incident was recorded by Thao's friend.

Thao stated she paid 22 million VND for braces at the clinic in 2021. After the braces were removed in 8/2025, she experienced pain and sought a second opinion, which resulted in a diagnosis of bone damage. When she returned to the Tuyet Chinh clinic to seek a resolution, she was allegedly assaulted. Thao is currently receiving treatment for neck injuries at Hoan My Hospital.

A representative of the Hanh Thong Ward People's Committee (UBND) confirmed the incident stemmed from a dispute over medical treatment. Local police have received the report and are investigating.
