Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh recently approved the exhibition plan, themed "80 years of independence - freedom - happiness". It will take place from 28/8 to 5/9 at the National Exhibition Center (Hanoi). The event will showcase Vietnam's notable achievements over 80 years of national development in sectors such as industry, technology, investment and trade, agriculture, security and national defense, foreign affairs, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and tourism.
The exhibition will feature diverse content, including green industry spaces, the digital transformation journey, aerospace and the universe, 12 Vietnamese cultural industries, and exhibits from nations with special relationships with Vietnam. Images of Vietnam – its people, 4,000 years of history, 54 ethnic groups, regional products, and iconic architectural works – will also be vividly recreated through modern displays. These include large photographs, drawings, and artifacts combined with 3D mapping projection technology, virtual reality, digital applications, and AI.

The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first, located in the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall, is themed "Vietnam - journey to a new era". It presents historical snapshots and core values throughout the nation's history of building and defending the country. Six exhibition spaces will showcase the themes: "Vietnam - country - people", "95 years under the Party's flag", "development creation", "prosperous province, strong country", "economic locomotive", and "national startup".
The second section is an outdoor exhibition area themed "integration and development". It includes spaces dedicated to: "for a green future", "sky aspirations", "sword and shield", "national festival", and a performing arts area.
The third section, situated in Block A, is themed "integration and innovation". It showcases international sectors and 12 Vietnamese cultural industries, with two main thematic spaces: "creating to build" and "Vietnam and the world".
At the exhibition's steering committee meeting on the afternoon of 2/7, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized the significant workload between now and the opening day. He urged ministries, sectors, and localities to focus intensely, meticulously prepare materials and artifacts, clearly assign tasks, and ensure implementation progress.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh stated that a series of major activities will occur leading up to the 80th National Day celebrations, including a military parade, exhibitions, historical seminars, and cultural and artistic programs. He requested diverse presentation methods with comprehensive content, closely aligned with the chosen themes.
