General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, stated that this year's National Day parade will feature a full complement of forces, including ground troops, mechanized units, air, and naval components. This announcement was made during a press conference commemorating the 80th anniversary of the General Staff (7/9/1945-7/9/2025).
"In addition to the army branches parading on land, there will also be tanks, submarines, surface vessels from the Navy, Coast Guard, and Border Guard," the general said.

On the afternoon of 10/7, a delegation from the Navy, led by Commander Tran Thanh Nghiem, inspected training at the 954 Naval Air Brigade, the unit that will participate in the naval parade. He emphasized the importance of this political task and the need for rigorous training to ensure absolute safety and contribute to the overall success of the event.
Established in 1984, the 954 Naval Air Brigade originated as the 954th Regiment under the Air Defense - Air Force. In 2013, the unit was upgraded to a brigade and transferred to the Navy. This versatile force can conduct anti-submarine warfare, aerial reconnaissance and observation, military transport, search and rescue operations at sea and on land, and participate in disaster relief.

In May, the government tasked the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security with preparing the parade and review to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on 2/9. The army will participate with 27 marching units, 11 ceremonial units, and an air force display. On 9/7, the Ministry of National Defense announced invitations had been sent to Russia, China, Laos, Cambodia, and Belarus to participate.
Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also assigned the ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Culture - Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the city of Hanoi, to clear, renovate, and expand Ba Dinh Square to accommodate this major event.
