The Bac Lieu 5 Bridge project, recently approved by the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee (PPC), will begin at the intersection of Tran Huynh and Vo Thi Sau streets in Bac Lieu ward and end at the outer ring road, spanning approximately 3 km.
The bridge itself will be almost 290 m long and 20.5 m wide, with 8 spans and 4 lanes. Designed for a speed of 50 km/h, it will have 28 m wide access roads. Funding will come from the central and provincial budgets, along with other sources, for construction between 2026 and 2029.
According to the Ca Mau PPC, the bridge will improve the province's post-merger transportation network. It will also connect and expand the urban area of the former Bac Lieu city center, encompassing Vinh Trach, Hiep Thanh, and Bac Lieu wards.
The project will further enhance infrastructure utilization and boost economic development in the Mekong Delta region.
In addition to this project, the province is also working on the Bac Lieu 4 Bridge and its connecting road to the East Sea dike, with a total investment of over 1,750 billion VND. This approximately 12 km project includes a bridge over the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau canal and a road from the outer ring road to the sea dike.
