Neighbor's door damaged after karaoke complaint

A family in Binh Tan District had their door damaged and were verbally abused after asking their neighbor to lower the volume of their karaoke singing.

Police in Binh Hung Hoa Ward, Binh Tan District are investigating an incident on 23/6 where a group damaged a resident's door following a dispute over loud karaoke singing.

The previous evening, Tran Viet An, living in an alley off Phan Dang Giang Street, was confronted by a 45-year-old man (his next-door neighbor) who yelled at him and demanded he come outside to talk.

The man then threw a garbage bag at An's security camera, tore down the door, and entered An's house with a group of young men, continuing the verbal abuse. The entire incident, lasting about three minutes, was recorded by the camera; during this time, loud karaoke music continued to play from the neighbor's house.

An explained that his neighbor had been playing music and singing karaoke from 2 PM to past 8 PM. Due to the prolonged and loud noise, An called and asked them to lower the volume, but his request was ignored. "I just wanted them to be more considerate of others in the residential area. I didn't expect to be threatened like this," An said.

A representative from the People's Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward confirmed the incident stemmed from a noise complaint about the excessively loud karaoke music. The neighbor has since repaired An's damaged door. Local authorities are currently reviewing the incident to determine appropriate action.
