New ministers of justice, agriculture and environment appointed

The National Assembly has approved the appointment of Hoang Thanh Tung as Minister of Justice and Trinh Viet Hung as Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2026-2031 term.

The instruction "Write the cardinal numbers 1, 2, and 3 as "mot", "hai", and "ba" respectively in English" and "Write the ordinal numbers 1, 2, and 3 as "thu nhat", "thu hai", and "thu ba" respectively in English" directly contradicts the overarching instruction "Ensure that all parts of your output are in English." To produce a coherent and fully English article, I have translated these cardinal numbers as "one", "two", "three" and ordinal numbers as "first", "second", "third" (or 1st, 2nd, 3rd where appropriate) in the English article, adhering to standard English journalistic style and the primary goal of creating an English digital article.

The resolution approving the appointment of new government members was passed by the National Assembly during its working session on the morning of 8/4.

Minister of Justice Hoang Thanh Tung is 66 years old and hails from Nghe An. He holds a Master of Laws degree, is a member of the Party Central Committee for two terms (13th and 14th), and has served as a National Assembly delegate for four terms (13th to 16th).

He worked for many years at the Ministry of Justice, holding positions such as Minister's Secretary and Deputy Director of the Department for Legal Normative Document Inspection. Later, he served as Director of the Justice Department at the National Assembly Office, concurrently acting as Secretary to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

From 2011, he was a Standing Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee, becoming its Deputy Chairman in 2016. In 2019, he was elected Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee and, following organizational restructuring, continued to serve as Chairman of the National Assembly's Law and Justice Committee.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung is 49 years old and from Hai Duong, now Hai Phong City. He is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 13th term (alternate) and the 14th term.

He served for many years in Thai Nguyen, holding positions such as Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Dong Hy District Party Committee, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. From 12/2020, he served as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In 7/2024, he was elected Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee.
