On 6/5, the Hy Vong Fund, in collaboration with FPT Polytechnic College, commenced construction of the new Mang Priu school point in village 3, Tra Linh commune, located over 200 km southwest of Da Nang city center.
This project, part of the "School Light" initiative, is scheduled for completion before the 2026-2027 academic year. Its goal is to eliminate temporary classrooms, allowing teachers and students to teach and learn with peace of mind amidst harsh weather conditions.

Tra Linh commune lies deep within the core of a particularly disadvantaged forest region of the former Quang Nam province. The scattered, makeshift school points are far from the center, and their unsolidified infrastructure poses safety risks.
The Mang Priu school point, part of Ngoc Linh Semi-Boarding Ethnic Primary School, was built in 2005. After over 20 years, its facilities have severely deteriorated. Despite minor repairs in 2024, the school point still consists of wooden classrooms, completely lacking essential auxiliary facilities.
Nguyen Tran Vy, the school principal, stated that teaching and learning faced numerous obstacles due to the absence of a dining hall, restrooms, and staff housing. Students had to eat lunch at their desks. For restroom needs, they relied on nearby households or used the forest area near the school.

"Teachers had to temporarily stay in local homes to remain at the school. Living conditions were inconvenient, especially for female teachers," Vy said.
The new facility is designed to include two classrooms, one staff room, a standard restroom system, a concrete courtyard, and a surrounding fence.
The realization of the new school is supported by 1,1 billion VND contributed by FPT Polytechnic College faculty and students through the Hy Vong Fund, alongside matching funds from local authorities.

Nguyen Thanh Nam, Vice Principal of FPT Polytechnic College, expressed hope that the new school would allow teachers to focus on their work, develop future generations of students, and contribute to the growth of the Tra Linh region.
Sharing his joy at the project's commencement, Principal Nguyen Tran Vy said: "Next academic year, with improved facilities, comprehensive educational activities will be implemented more effectively. Teachers and students will no longer have to worry when heavy rains and strong winds arrive."
At the ceremony, representatives from the sponsoring organizations and students performed the groundbreaking ritual and assembled a "Dream School" puzzle. This symbolic activity represents the community's collective effort to improve the educational environment in particularly disadvantaged areas of the former Quang Nam province.

Since 2018, the Hy Vong Fund and its partners have constructed eight educational facilities in Da Nang city, including schools, kitchens, bathrooms, and staff housing. They have also repaired six schools, provided e-libraries to nine schools, and implemented various health support activities for local residents, totaling over 10 billion VND in sponsorship.
Last March, the Hy Vong Fund collaborated with partners and Phuoc Chanh commune to inaugurate a 2,2 billion VND kindergarten in Phuoc Cong 2 village. This is the first school point in the commune capable of providing semi-boarding facilities for highland children.
