One dead after drunk driver causes multi-vehicle collision in Hanoi

Following a multi-vehicle collision on Nguyen Chanh street, Yen Hoa ward, on the evening of 6/3, a female victim, approximately 50 years old, was taken to Hospital 19/8 but later died.

On 7/3, a representative from Hospital 19/8 of the Ministry of Public Security confirmed that the middle-aged woman died before arrival at the hospital due to head trauma and blunt abdominal injuries. Additionally, two other injured individuals were admitted for emergency treatment.

According to investigations by the Hanoi City Police, at approximately 6:50 PM on 6/3, driver Nguyen Van Sau, 66, residing in Yen Hoa ward, was driving his car on Nguyen Chanh street towards Tran Duy Hung. Upon reaching the Nam Trung Yen apartment complex, Sau lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision involving six cars and four motorbikes.

The Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency, along with the Traffic Police Department and Yen Hoa Ward Police, inspected the scene and investigated the incident. An alcohol test performed on Sau revealed a breath alcohol content of 0,264 mg/L.
