Over 100 tons of spoiled piglets destroyed

Authorities discovered over 100 tons of spoiled piglets and roasted pigs in a freezer, with no clear origin, valued at over 18 billion VND.

On 9/8, Market Management Team No. 1 collaborated with authorities to destroy the illicit goods. The day before, during an unannounced inspection of Le Van Huong's business (Hoai An commune), authorities found a freezer containing piglets and roasted pigs sourced from various places, packaged in plastic bags, and stored for gradual sale.

The entire stock lacked documentation proving its origin and tracking records, and the packaging displayed no origin information. The total of over 100,000 kg of products showed signs of discoloration and emitted a foul odor, with spots appearing on the ears, tails, legs, bellies, and chests.

According to the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Gia Lai Province's Region I, the goods posed a risk of spreading disease, harming livestock, plants, and the environment, necessitating their destruction.
