On the morning of 6/8, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2/9), Party General Secretary To Lam attended and spoke at a meeting with 80 exemplary intellectuals, scientists, and artists nationwide. The program was chaired by the Central Commission for Propaganda and Education and the Central Mobilization Committee, in coordination with the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central organizations, the Office of the Party Central Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The General Secretary emphasized that throughout Vietnam's revolutionary history, intellectuals, scientists, and artists have always played a pioneering role in enlightening the public, developing revolutionary theory, and applying science, technology, culture, and art to the cause of fighting for independence and national development. They have been courageous in combat, persistent in creativity, pioneers in innovation, and dedicated to building the nation.
According to the Party leader, the country's current achievements, position, and prestige are the result of the unity and tireless dedication of the people, including significant contributions from intellectuals, scientists, and artists. In the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and renewable energy are profoundly changing all aspects of life. Knowledge is the most important resource, the "new energy" driving national development. If Vietnam does not proactively embrace and master these advancements, it risks falling behind. Therefore, intellectuals play a key role in mastering knowledge and leading the innovation process.
"You are not only engineers of the soul, architects of the future, and representatives of the potential of the Vietnamese people, but also keepers of the flame, spreading Vietnamese values, spirit, and identity in a competitive and ever-changing world," the General Secretary stated.

He called on intellectuals, scientists, and artists to maximize their intellect, revolutionary qualities, and patriotism to contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable development. He urged them to focus on key areas such as science and technology, education and training, healthcare, high-tech agriculture, the digital economy, the digital society, green energy, and the circular economy.
For artists, the General Secretary expressed his hope that each individual would be a warrior on the spiritual front, creating works rich in ideological and aesthetic value that inspire and elevate the Vietnamese soul in the context of global integration.
In addition to their professional roles, he emphasized that intellectuals should demonstrate a spirit of dedication to their work and actively participate in policy critique with a scientific, humanistic, and national spirit. Intellectuals are not only disseminators of knowledge but also contributors to the formation of moral foundations, supplementing new knowledge, and shaping development paths for the country and its people.
The General Secretary particularly emphasized that in the age of information explosion, where truth and falsehood are intertwined, and incidents are easily manipulated by technology and artificial intelligence, professional ethics, honesty, scientific rigor, and social responsibility of intellectuals become even more critical. "Integrity, honesty, and kindness are the shields that protect truth, protect humanity, and help society develop healthily," he said.
