On the afternoon of 15/7, Party General Secretary To Lam visited and presented gifts to war veterans at the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center (Ninh Xa ward, Bac Ninh province), in commemoration of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (27/7).
The Party leader expressed his gratitude, sincere affection, and admiration for the veterans, who bravely fought and dedicated their youth and bodies to the nation's independence and freedom. Despite bearing war-inflicted disabilities, the veterans have maintained their character, will, faith, and optimism, "truly serving as shining examples for younger generations to admire, learn from, and follow."
The General Secretary praised the efforts, dedication, and responsibility of the staff, doctors, nurses, and employees of the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center – those who work quietly but with great compassion, contributing to providing warmth, safety, and the best possible care for the veterans.
He thanked the wives and family members of the veterans who have sacrificed and put aside their personal lives to stay at the Center, diligently caring for and accompanying the veterans as they overcome their injuries and illnesses.

The General Secretary emphasized that the Party, State, and people consistently hold the view: "Those who have contributed to the revolution are precious assets of the nation," and are sacred symbols of patriotism and Vietnamese morality. The task of expressing gratitude and remembering one's roots is not only a major policy but also "a command from the heart, a political responsibility, and a moral obligation of the entire political system and society as a whole."
To better care for the lives of those who have contributed to the revolution, in recent years, the Party and State have issued many preferential policies and benefits. The General Secretary requested that Party committees, authorities, and organizations at all levels in Bac Ninh province pay more attention to and better care for the material and spiritual lives of war veterans and those who have made contributions. "It's not just about providing care, but also creating conditions for them to continue contributing and spreading their resilience and positive values to the community," he noted.
The General Secretary expressed his hope that the veterans will continue to uphold the "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" tradition, live joyfully and healthily, and be shining examples for their children and grandchildren to follow. Each veteran is a living symbol of Vietnamese will and resilience – a testament to the spirit of patriotism, indomitability, and loyalty, continuing to be a beacon of revolutionary inspiration for future generations.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented gifts to the veterans being cared for at the Center; and representatives of five families of martyrs who were awarded the "Fatherland Recognizes Merit" certificate by the Prime Minister in 6/2025.

Established in 1965, the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center is currently a public service unit under the Department of War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs. Over the past 60 years, the Center has received thousands of war veterans injured from battlefields of the resistance wars against the French, the Americans, the defense of the northern and southwestern borders, and international missions in Laos and Cambodia for rest and treatment.
Currently, the Center provides care, treatment, and policy implementation for 84 severely disabled 1/4 class war veterans from 13 provinces and cities. Among them are 51 veterans injured during the American War; and 33 veterans injured during the defense of the northern and southwestern borders, volunteer soldiers in Laos and Cambodia, and during national construction and defense.
Earlier that afternoon, General Secretary To Lam offered incense at the Memorial House for Fallen Heroes of the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center.
