According to a representative from the Traffic Police Department, the initial investigation suggests brake failure as the cause of the accident. The driver, who tested negative for alcohol and drugs, is undergoing further testing.
The 7 km-long Doc Cun slope, located on National Highway 6 in Phu Tho province (formerly Hoa Binh province), is known as the "death slope" due to its 10 sharp turns, with a mountainside on one side and a deep abyss on the other. Numerous accidents, primarily involving overturned vehicles, have occurred on Doc Cun.
