During the site excavation, the search and repatriation team unearthed an AK rifle, a canteen, four sandals, a belt fragment, two sets of teeth, some small bone fragments, and other artifacts.
Notably, among these artifacts was a ballpoint pen engraved with the words "Tien Quy" and an image of two doves on its body.
In the coming days, the team will expand the search area. Once verification steps are complete, the remains will be reburied according to regulations as soon as possible.
This search is part of the "500-day and night campaign to intensify the search, repatriation, and identification of martyrs' remains". Beyond Minh Duc commune, Dong Nai is conducting searches at other locations and collecting DNA samples from martyrs' cemeteries to aid in identification.
Previously, on 11/7, Dong Nai held a memorial and reburial ceremony for 63 martyrs who perished in Cambodia and domestically, at the Binh Phuoc Martyrs' Cemetery.
