Phan Rang - Thap Cham deeply submerged

Heavy rain lasting nearly three hours caused many roads and homes in the Phan Rang - Thap Cham area to be deeply flooded on the morning of 10/12.

Water submerged half of the wheels, stalling many vehicles on Thong Nhat street, Phan Rang ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, formerly Ninh Thuan province, now Khanh Hoa province). A 500 m section of the road was flooded, paralyzing traffic.

On Hoang Hoa Tham street, students and parents waded through deep water. Pham Trung Kien, carrying his child home from school, stated this was the first time he had witnessed such severe flooding. “Our house is nearby, so I carried my child home for safety,” Kien explained.

Thai Quang Hau, 58, whose house is on Hoang Hoa Tham street, used a tarp to prevent water from entering his home. Hau explained that heavy rain combined with high tides caused severe flooding.

Water flooded homes along Hoang Hoa Tham street, leaving residents just enough time to elevate their belongings.

Water flooded the home of artist Thuong Tin during his funeral. Two days prior, the renowned actor, celebrated for roles in "The Flipped Card Game" and "Saigon Commandos," passed away at age 69 in his hometown of Phan Rang after a long illness. He is scheduled for burial this afternoon in his hometown.
