Police armored and amphibious vehicles debut in parade rehearsal

Bulletproof armored vehicles and amphibious special-purpose vehicles equipped for police forces made their first appearance in a joint parade rehearsal for the 80th National Day.

The People's Public Security special vehicle unit joined the army's vehicle and artillery unit and 61 other parade units for the first time in a joint rehearsal at the Mieu Mon National Training Center on 17/7.

These semi-military vehicles, constructed from specialized steel, can operate on all terrains and perform special tasks such as riot control, disaster relief, and search and rescue.

The bulletproof armored vehicles equipped for special police forces can overcome obstacles and navigate deep water. The vehicles are resistant to various types of ammunition, and the tires can continue moving even when punctured or encountering problems during missions.

The highly mobile and combat-ready IAG armored vehicle is part of the vehicle unit responsible for escorting party and state leaders and international delegations.

A multi-purpose combat support vehicle is designed to lift and pull vehicles over obstacles for combat and rescue operations. This vehicle enables the police to quickly access high positions, detect and handle various types of mines and liquids, and maintain security at important events.

Some vehicles are equipped with automated systems, including high-pressure water cannons, integrated pepper spray mixing systems, and paint sprayers for marking targets.

A fleet of armored Chevrolet Suburbans with bulletproof glass capable of withstanding handgun fire is provided to security forces.

A fleet of motorcycles escorts party and state leaders and international delegations visiting Vietnam.

The fire and rescue unit includes a command vehicle for on-site management, a standard fire truck equipped with a 4,000-liter water tank, a 200-liter foam tank, and a high-capacity pump; and a ladder truck that can reach a height of 32 m and rotate 360 degrees to support firefighting in high-rise buildings.

The police forces participating in the parade also include security, police, peacekeeping, special forces, and police air force units. The 61 army and police units participating in the parade have almost two months of training remaining before the preliminary review, general rehearsal, and official parade on 2/9.
