On the evening of 17/7, a 31-year-old woman, La Lan Thi Se, gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 3 kg at Phu Yen Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, thanks to the swift intervention of police and medical teams. She had gone into severe labor with heavy bleeding while working with her husband, cutting sugarcane for hire in the remote Da Ban mountain area of Xuan Son hamlet, Van Hoa commune.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when the area, deep within the forest and far from any medical facility, made the situation critical. Concerned for his wife's safety, her husband immediately called authorities for help. Responding to the urgent plea, Lieutenant Colonel Ha Minh Cuong, Deputy Chief of Van Hoa Commune Police, swiftly assembled a team. Along with two police officers, he collaborated with medical staff from the local health station and the Commune Economic Department, equipping a specialized truck with essential medical supplies before heading to the scene.

According to Van Hoa Commune Police, the temporary shelter where the couple resided was nestled deep within a mountainous forest, situated over 15 km from the commune center, accessible only by a treacherous path. The task force traveled for over 30 minutes by truck, but the final section of the journey required them to proceed on foot to reach Se.
Upon reaching her, the team provided immediate first aid. They then carefully used a stretcher to carry Se to their vehicle, commencing the journey to Phu Yen Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, located over 50 km from the rescue site. Both mother and child are in stable condition.
Se is a Cham ethnic minority, originally from Ma Giai village, Phu Tuc commune, Gia Lai province. She had been working for hire in Van Hoa commune with her husband.
