Police rescue two siblings from Dak Bla river

A young woman and her brother were rescued from the Dak Bla river on the morning of 20/7 after he jumped in to save her, despite not being able to swim.

Around 5:30 a.m., residents spotted a young woman struggling in the Dak Bla river near Kon Tum ward. Suspecting she had jumped in, they immediately alerted authorities.

The Quang Ngai Province Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting, and Rescue and Rescue dispatched a specialized vehicle and 12 officers from Regional Rescue Team 4 to the scene.

After about 20 minutes, the rescue team reached the 19-year-old woman, a university student from Da Nang residing in Thong Nhat ward, and brought her safely to shore.

While the rescue was underway, the woman's brother suddenly jumped into the river in an attempt to save her. Unable to swim, he also began to drown. Police quickly reached him and brought him to safety. Both siblings are now in stable condition.

According to relatives, the young woman had been exhibiting unusual behavior and had left home earlier. Her brother and sister were searching for her when her brother saw her in the river and instinctively jumped in to help.
