Quang Tri province provides relocation support for civil servants

Civil servants in Quang Tri province relocating to new administrative centers without assigned housing will receive 3 million VND (approximately 127 USD) monthly for two years to cover rent and travel expenses.

On 14/8, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council approved a resolution to support civil servants and employees of provincial and communal agencies relocating to new administrative centers.

Those without assigned housing will receive 3 million VND monthly for two years, starting 1/7. This includes 2 million VND for rent (based on an average rent of 4 million VND for a two-person room) and 1 million VND for travel (based on a one-way bus ticket between Dong Ha and the former Dong Hoi costing 120,000 VND, with 8 trips per month).

Those with assigned housing will receive 1 million VND monthly. Those with transportation provided from their homes to their workplaces are not eligible. Quang Tri currently has 69 rooms for official housing, accommodating 100-125 people, leaving over 1,590 without assigned housing.

Communal civil servants whose new offices are 50 km or more from their previous locations (in the plains) or 40 km or more (in mountainous or border areas) will receive 1 million VND monthly.

The total estimated budget for this policy is 120 billion VND, with over 119.6 billion VND supporting 1,628 individuals without official housing and about 480 million VND supporting 20 communal civil servants.

Quang Tri province covers 12,700 km2 with a population of over 1.8 million and 78 communes. Of the 1,690 individuals eligible for support, 1,315 work for state agencies and 375 for the Party. Approximately 20 communal civil servants meet the distance criteria for support.

According to the provincial government, this policy aims to help civil servants settle into their new locations and focus on their work following the reorganization of provincial and communal administrative centers.
