Around 13:30, a group of workers was on the right side of the restaurant wall at 247 Phu Dong Thien Vuong when a large section of the wall unexpectedly collapsed, pulling down the awning. Two individuals managed to escape, but Nghiem Xuan Hiep, 46, was buried under concrete and debris.

The Lam Dong Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department deployed three specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers. They used lifting and cutting equipment to clear the rubble and reach the victim.

By 14:55, Hiep was extracted and transported to Lam Dong General Hospital, where he died from severe injuries. The scene is currently sealed off for an investigation into the cause.

The restaurant involved in the incident was constructed with brick walls, an iron frame, and a plastic sheet roof. It previously operated as a food and beverage business. For about one year, the establishment has ceased operations and was undergoing renovations.
