Initial investigations reveal that two days prior, the young man rode his motorcycle to the foot of Hoang Nguu Son mountain on Do Xuan Hop street in Nam Nha Trang ward. He parked his motorcycle and began climbing alone. He has been out of contact since the evening of 4/8.
The hiker's mother, Phan Thi Loan, described her son as a kind, independent young man with a passion for adventure travel. He typically informs his family before each trip. His last call home was on 4/8, after which he lost contact.
According to his friends, the hiker was wearing brown clothing when he started his climb. He also posted a photo of himself on the summit to a Facebook group.
Hoang Nguu Son mountain, part of the Dong Bo war zone, stands at 972 meters and is known as the "roof" of Nha Trang. The mountain has steep terrain, numerous large rocks, and several slippery sections, posing risks for those lacking proper skills, equipment, or hiking alone.
Locals advise hikers to plan carefully and climb with experienced companions to ensure safety and proper navigation.
