Many trees, with trunks nearly half a meter in diameter and over 10 meters tall, planted on sidewalks in front of hotels, withered and lost their foliage over nearly half a month. Along the route, several other trees have dry trunks and show no signs of life.

The managing unit implemented various rescue measures, but without success. Some trees, pruned to only their trunks, are now producing sparse new shoots, while others had to be cut down. Mr. Hoa, a local resident, expressed regret over the dying trees. He mentioned the trees were planted decades ago, providing year-round shade.
Phu Dong Thien Vuong street, approximately 2,4 km long, connects Da Lat University's five-way intersection with the Mai Anh Dao - Thanh Mau junction. This street was known for its abundant greenery, enhancing the landscape. Two years ago, Lam Dong province invested about 250 billion VND to widen the roadbed and improve the drainage system, lighting, and sidewalks.

A representative from Lam Vien Ward People's Committee attributed the trees' decline to the construction process, which damaged their root systems. This, combined with prolonged hot weather, severely weakened the trees. According to statistics, ten trees are beyond recovery and will be cut down and replaced in the near future.
