Site where 13 martyrs sacrificed during Rao Trang rescue becomes historical relic

The memorial for martyrs at sub-area 67, Phong Dien ward, where 13 soldiers sacrificed during the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant rescue, has been recognized as a historical relic.

On 20/4, Hue City Department of Culture and Sports announced that the martyr memorial on road 71 at sub-area 67 has been classified as a city-level historical-cultural relic, along with 17 other relics.

In 2022, to commemorate and honor the martyrs who sacrificed while rescuing workers at Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant, Hue City authorities built a memorial at Guard Station 67 on road 71. This site is where 13 soldiers perished, and the construction had a total cost exceeding 6.5 billion VND.

The memorial complex spans over 1.8 hectares and features key components: a memorial house, a monument listing the martyrs' names, retaining walls and slope reinforcement, internal roads, a parking lot, and a solar-powered lighting system. After completion, the project became a significant site for educating younger generations about the fighting spirit and sacrifice of these soldiers.
