After 6 PM, a 7-seater vehicle was traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, heading towards Ho Chi Minh City. Near Binh Duc commune, the vehicle collided with a truck moving in the same direction behind it.
Following the initial accident, the truck, along with two 5-seater cars and a pickup truck traveling behind, could not react in time, leading to a chain collision.

The accident caused no casualties, but damaged the front and rear sections of the vehicles. As the damaged vehicles occupied lane one next to the median, other vehicles moved slowly in lane two, resulting in several kilometers of congestion on the expressway.
Authorities arrived at the scene to direct traffic and remove the damaged vehicles from the area. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway is 50 km long, featuring four lanes and two emergency stopping lanes. It opened in 2010. After more than 12 years of operation, increased traffic volume has led to frequent congestion and accidents. A project to upgrade and expand this key western route was launched last month.
