Young man fined 62,5 million VND for draft evasion

A young man in Song Tri ward has been fined 62,5 million VND for failing to appear at the military induction ceremony despite receiving a call-up order.

The administrative sanction decision against the 24-year-old was signed by Tran Bau Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee, and announced on 20/3. In addition to the fine, the violator must fulfill his military service obligations.

The young man had undergone health examinations from the communal to provincial levels and was selected for military service in 2026. The Chairman of the Song Tri Ward People's Committee issued his call-up order in early February.

However, he was absent from the military induction ceremony organized by the Command of Area 3 Defense - Ky Anh on 5/3. Local leaders attempted to speak with him, but the young man was not at home.

Authorities documented his absence and demanded that he voluntarily comply with the conscription decision. Failure to do so would result in forced enforcement according to legal regulations.

For 2026, Ha Tinh province was assigned to recruit 1,690 citizens for military service, including 1,400 for the army and 290 for the police. All localities within the province held their induction ceremonies on 5/3.
