On the afternoon of 20/7, while on leave in Tai Per village, Ia Ko commune, Gia Lai province, Sergeant Kpa Thiep discovered two people in danger due to an electrical incident. He quickly rushed in and rescued Rmah Viet and Rah Lan HNom. The two victims have since recovered.
However, Kpa Thiep was electrocuted and collapsed. Despite being rushed to emergency medical care by residents and authorities, Kpa Thiep passed away at 13:00 on the same day.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that Sergeant Kpa Thiep's heroic act symbolizes revolutionary heroism, demonstrating courage and a willingness to sacrifice himself to protect the lives of the people.
This sacrifice is a significant loss for his family and unit, but it provides an example of bravery, responsibility, and noble deeds for Army generations to emulate.
Sergeant Kpa Thiep was born in 2006 in Chu Se commune, Gia Lai province.
In 2/2025, Thiep joined the army. After completing recruit training at Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 28, he was assigned to Platoon 3, Guard Platoon, Staff Department, Regiment 28, Division 10.
