Speaking at the ceremony, President To Lam emphasized that strengthening the team of judges and adding leaders to the Supreme People's Court is essential for improving the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of judicial operations in a new phase of development.
He urged each judge to maintain political steadfastness, be loyal to the Party, Nation, and people. Judges must be independent in adjudication, adhering only to the law, and not let any pressure, personal interests, or private relations influence the impartiality of rulings.
The Party and State leader stressed that every judgment and decision must be legally sound, emotionally just, persuasive, and serve to educate and guide society. He added that there must be "absolutely no wrongful convictions," as each error is not only a legal issue but also erodes public trust in justice.
The Supreme People's Court is tasked with ensuring the unified application of law, developing legal precedents, and contributing to institutional improvement. It must also build a judicial staff that is clean, honest, and disciplined, resolutely preventing corruption and negativity within judicial activities.
President To Lam advised judges to master the law, understand practical realities, be professionally astute, possess sharp legal thinking, and have a systemic vision. He called on them to be examples of ethics, integrity, courage, and responsibility, ensuring that each ruling contributes to protecting justice and consolidating public trust in the law.
Currently, the Supreme People's Court is led by Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang, supported by six deputy chief justices and 23 judges.
