Tickets for Tet Binh Ngo 2026 went on sale at 8 a.m. today. Individuals can purchase tickets directly at train stations, ticket offices, or online. Each customer can book and purchase a maximum of 10 tickets for the outbound journey and 10 for the return. Group ticket sales for organizations were registered between 15/9 and 19/9.
At Saigon station this morning, many people arrived early to get queue numbers, but the station was less crowded than in previous years due to the majority of passengers purchasing tickets online. The reduced number of in-person purchases meant quicker processing times, with an average wait time of about 10 minutes.

Le Anh Tuan, Director of Saigon Railway Transport Branch, stated that the price increase is due to the introduction of 150 new carriages. The highest fare is 3.75 million VND for a first-class soft sleeper (4-berth compartment) on the Saigon - Hanoi route during peak season. A VIP compartment is also available for 7.35 million VND per bed for passengers seeking more privacy.
Various discounts are still available: 5-15% off for advance purchases, 2-12% off for group bookings, 5% off the return leg of round-trip tickets, 10-20% off for students, and existing discounts for seniors and children.
This Tet, Vietnam Railways will operate from 3/2 to 8/3/2026 (16th day of the 12th lunar month to 20th day of the 1st lunar month), with 55 trains providing 330,000 seats daily. In addition to the seven pairs of Thong Nhat trains, there will be two additional pairs on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route and 12 pairs of shorter-distance trains on high-demand routes such as Hanoi - Vinh, Hue - Da Nang, Saigon - Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, and Phan Thiet.
Passengers can purchase tickets at train stations, on the websites dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, and vetauonline.vn, or through e-wallets such as MoMo and ViettelPay.
