Thanh Hoa chairman appointed permanent deputy minister of ethnic affairs and religion

Nguyen Hoai Anh, chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, was appointed permanent deputy minister of ethnic affairs and religion by the prime minister on 19/7/2026.

Nguyen Hoai Anh, 49, hails from Quang Nam. He holds a bachelor's degree in English, is a trained architect, and has a master's degree in public administration. He is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 13th (alternate) and 14th terms.

He began his career in Binh Thuan province, rising through the ranks from youth union work. He successively held positions as deputy secretary and then secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, secretary of the Tuy Phong District Party Committee, deputy head of the Internal Affairs Committee, and head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department. He later joined the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board and served as chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

In 7/2019, he was elected permanent vice chairman of the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Council. Over one year later, he became permanent deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the Provincial People's Council. In 3/2024, he was appointed secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee. By 7/2025, he was transferred to serve as permanent deputy secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee.

After two months as permanent deputy secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Hoai Anh was transferred by the Politburo to become deputy secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and was elected chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the 14th Party Congress in 1/2026, Nguyen Hoai Anh was elected a member of the Party Central Committee.

In 3/2026, he was re-elected chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term.

The Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and Religion is a government agency responsible for state management of ethnic affairs, beliefs, and religions.

The current Minister of Ethnic Affairs and Religion is Nguyen Dinh Khang. He is assisted by five deputy ministers: Nguyen Hoai Anh (permanent), Y Vinh Tor, Y Thong, Nguyen Hai Trung, and Nong Thi Ha.
