Three killed in highway accident

A passenger van carrying 12 people collided with a tractor-trailer on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, leaving three dead at the scene and 10 injured.

The accident occurred at 4:12 AM on 9/12 at kilometer marker 71+200 on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway. This location is within Bich Ngo village, Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang city, situated about 100 km south of Da Nang city center.

Initial reports indicate that a 16-seater passenger van, bearing Hanoi license plates and carrying 12 individuals, crashed into a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer, with Hai Phong license plates, was driven by 43-year-old Bui Manh Thang, a resident of Hai Phong. The identity of the passenger van driver has not yet been determined.

The collision caused severe damage to the front of the passenger van, and the tractor-trailer also sustained damage. Three passengers died at the scene of the accident, and 10 others were injured. Authorities are currently working to identify the victims and verify their medical conditions.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
