General Secretary To Lam, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Museum of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Initiated by the Politburo and the Party Central Committee Secretariat in late 2024, the Museum of the Communist Party of Vietnam is a project commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding in 2030. It aims to comprehensively reflect the Party's leadership throughout Vietnam's revolutionary process and its achievements in national liberation, construction, defense, and development.
The museum is under construction in the Tay Ho Tay new urban area, Hanoi. It will cover a construction area of 10,000 - 12,000 square meters. Funded by public investment, the project is expected to be completed in 2029.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Office, emphasized the "especially significant" nature of the event. He stated it reflects profound respect for the Party's glorious 96-year history.
According to Mr. Hung, since its founding on 3/2/1930, the Party, under President Ho Chi Minh's leadership, guided the Vietnamese nation through immense challenges to achieve great, historic victories. It transformed the country from a colony into an independent, unified nation. Today, the Party continues to lead the nation in a new era of development, building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam.
Mr. Hung stressed that the Museum of the Communist Party of Vietnam will not only preserve and display invaluable historical documents and artifacts but also vividly and truthfully convey the revolutionary journey of the Party and the nation. It will serve as a center for revolutionary tradition education, fostering faith, ideals, and revolutionary ethics among cadres, Party members, and the public, especially the youth. The project will also introduce international friends to the history, role, and significant contributions of the Communist Party of Vietnam to the cause of national liberation worldwide.
Nguyen Van Tham, Director of Administration, Party Central Committee Office, stated that in 4/2025, his unit was assigned as the investor for the museum construction project. By late 12/2025, the Politburo approved the planning concept and architectural design. This design draws inspiration from the deep-rooted, enduring traditional values of "village-nation" (lang - nuoc) in Vietnamese culture, characterized by bamboo fences and river landings. The architectural structure embodies Vietnam's wisdom and aspiration for self-reliance in the new era. Its form, symbolizing a "rising steel fortress" combined with digital technology, aims to create a world-leading smart and modern museum.
Beyond continuing project documentation, the investor will actively direct contractors to expedite construction. They will also organize the reception of approximately 5,000 documents and artifacts from various sources, conduct research for collection, and develop detailed outlines and exhibition designs. The museum is expected to begin operations in QII/2029 and officially open to visitors for the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding on 3/2/1930.
