Around 7 am, the sky in many areas of Ca Mau turned dark, with heavy rain and strong gusts of wind, which then formed a tornado. It swept through Khanh Binh, Tran Van Thoi, Tri Phai, Luong The Tran communes and surrounding areas.

"I was inside my house when I heard the wind howl. Just a few seconds later, the roof was torn off, and many belongings flew everywhere", said Dinh Van Huong, a resident of Kenh Chua hamlet, Tran Van Thoi commune.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Office, Khanh Binh commune suffered the heaviest damage, with 25 houses and a branch of Ly Tu Trong Primary School affected. Of these, five houses completely collapsed, and 20 had their roofs blown off or were damaged. Four injured people were taken for treatment.
