On the morning of 11/8, over 20 Vespas carrying tourists were traveling along Le Loi Street. As they approached the Nguyen Hue - Le Loi intersection in Saigon Ward, the traffic light turned yellow and then red. Ten of the scooters failed to slow down and continued to turn right onto Le Thanh Ton Street.
Some scooters weaved through vehicles stopped at the red light and pedestrians crossing the street. The intersection where the violation occurred does not have a green right-turn arrow for red lights.
The scooter tour was organized by a tourism company specializing in vintage Vespa tours of Ho Chi Minh City, which attracts many foreign visitors. In discussions with the police, the company's representatives pledged to prevent similar incidents and ensure passenger safety during future tours.
