The construction, spanning over 3,800 square meters, includes 423 apartments along with commercial and service facilities, representing a total investment exceeding 640 billion VND. This project is the first in TP HCM to be implemented under National Assembly Resolution 201, which pilots a special mechanism for social housing development. While the projected construction period is 24 months, the city has requested an accelerated timeline.
Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, stated that over 3,000 applicants have registered their interest in the project. The Ministry is collaborating with TP HCM to further develop social housing projects for officers and soldiers. In Ha Noi, the Ministry has completed 8 projects and is preparing three new ones.
According to the Construction and Barracks Management Department (Ministry of Public Security), housing demand for the police force in TP HCM is projected to be nearly 9,900 units by September 2025, following recent mergers, and is expected to increase to almost 14,900 units by 2030. The Ministry and TP HCM have agreed to allocate six land plots for developing housing for these officers and soldiers.
