The TP HCM People's Council approved the resolution at a special session on december 26, agreeing to the investment policy for three bridge projects linking TP HCM with Dong Nai and the former Binh Duong area.
The Thanh Hoi 2 bridge will feature 6 lanes, starting at the intersection of DH.401 and Thanh Hoi 4 road in Tan Khanh ward (former Binh Duong). It will conclude at the junction of DT.768 and DT.768B roads in Tan Trieu ward (Dong Nai). The project has a total estimated capital of 1,300 billion VND, with a proposal for 650 billion VND in central budget support.
The Tan An bridge (Tan An – An Lac) will connect Thuong Tan commune with Tan An commune (Dong Nai). It will also have 6 lanes, with an estimated total investment of 1,120 billion VND; 560 billion VND has been proposed from the central budget. The TP HCM People's Committee will serve as the managing agency for these two projects.
The third project is the Tan Hien bridge, which will span the Dong Nai River, linking Thuong Tan commune (TP HCM) with Tan Trieu ward (Dong Nai). This structure will also feature 6 lanes. The Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee will lead the implementation of this project.
Under the Southeast region's development plan, the former Binh Duong area and Dong Nai are accelerating the development of bridge and road systems connecting across their shared river boundaries. These projects are expected to alleviate congestion on existing national highways, reduce travel times between industrial centers, and establish new transportation axes. This will integrate TP HCM with Dong Nai, opening up urban development potential and attracting investment along the connecting corridors.
