Tractor-trailer stuck on railway tracks, split in two by train collision

A tractor-trailer crossing railway tracks in Nghia Hanh commune became stuck at a barrier and was directly hit by an oncoming train, splitting the vehicle in two and injuring two people on the evening of 6/3.

At approximately 8:45 PM, a 45-year-old male driver was operating a tractor-trailer. He was traveling from the Cho Tre area, formerly Nghia Phuong commune, towards the former Cho Chua town. As the vehicle entered the railway crossing, a barrier descended, trapping the tractor-trailer on the tracks.

The driver then exited his vehicle, attempting to lift the barrier. After failing, he returned to the cabin to move the truck. However, at that moment, a train approached and collided head-on with the front of the vehicle, splitting the tractor unit and its trailer.

At the scene, the tractor-trailer was severely damaged and deformed. The front of the train's locomotive also sustained dents. Both the train driver and the truck driver were injured and transported to emergency services.

Railway officials confirmed the incident, stating that authorities are investigating its cause.
