Traffic jam over 5 km at Ho Chi Minh City's eastern gateway

A 5 km traffic jam occurred on Vo Chi Cong street – Phu Huu intersection; Long Phuoc – Long Truong toll booths, heading from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, on the afternoon of 19/9.

From 10:00, many roads in Ho Chi Minh City's eastern gateway, such as Vo Chi Cong street and Phu Huu roundabout, began experiencing prolonged congestion. This complex traffic situation resulted from an incident where a truck carrying numerous sacks of glass spilled its load onto a lane of Vo Chi Cong street, near the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway's entrance and exit ramps.

Vehicles crawled on Vo Chi Cong street through Phu Huu roundabout.

Vo Chi Cong street, which links the Cat Lai port clusters and the former District 7 area, typically experiences high vehicle density. This, coupled with the incident, led to prolonged congestion.

A traffic jam extended over 4 km from the Long Phuoc toll booth to the Long Truong toll booth, on the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai. Construction for expressway expansion has barricaded two lanes in this section, compelling vehicles to proceed slowly in single file.
