The incident severely disrupted the main traffic artery connecting southern Ho Chi Minh City to the city center, causing prolonged congestion. Police quickly responded, blocking the turn from Nguyen Thi Thap onto Nguyen Huu Tho, which leads to Kenh Te Bridge.
At the intersection of Ngo Thi Bi and Nguyen Huu Tho, the route leading to Kenh Te Bridge experienced severe congestion, with thousands of motorbikes having to squeeze through. To escape the traffic, many drivers had to ride on the sidewalk.
The extensive traffic delays caused numerous commuters to be late for work. Mr. Huan, a motorbike driver, expressed his frustration while stuck in the hot, congested traffic. He stated he had been traveling from District 4 to Nha Be for 30 minutes without being able to cross Kenh Te Bridge. "This is my only route to work.
