Two 9th-grade female students die while wading in a stream in Da Nang

Two 15-year-old female students from Tien Phuoc commune died after slipping into a deep water area while wading in a stream with friends on the afternoon of March 26.

Nguyen Hung Anh, Chairman of Tien Phuoc Commune People's Committee, stated the incident occurred in the Tray area, Tien Phu Dong hamlet.

Around 3:30 PM, a group of 11 students from Vo Thi Sau Secondary School went for a walk and decided to play in the stream. As they held hands and waded across, three students unexpectedly slipped into a deep water area.

While their friends managed to pull one student to safety, the two female students, Ha Vy and My Kieu, were swept away by the current and lost strength. The remaining students immediately ran for help.

Nearby residents quickly arrived at the scene, brought the two victims ashore, and administered first aid. However, both Ha Vy and My Kieu did not survive.
