Truck crashes into house, one dead

A truck carrying acacia wood collided with a motorbike and then crashed into a house on a provincial road in Quang Tri on 28/12, killing one person and injuring four others.

A devastating accident in Quang Tri on 28/12 resulted in one fatality and four injuries after a truck collided with a motorbike and crashed into a house. A 5-year-old child died at the scene, while a father and his two children on the motorbike, along with another child inside the house, sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred around 11 am when a driver from Vinh Thuy commune was operating a truck carrying acacia wood with Quang Tri license plates. The truck was traveling on provincial road 575 from Ho Chi Minh Road towards National Highway 1A. Upon reaching the intersection of provincial road 575 and provincial road 576 in Con Tien commune, the vehicle collided with a motorbike. After the initial impact, the truck veered off the road, crashing into several roadside shops and a house, causing the front section of the dwelling to collapse.

Emergency responders rescued the truck driver, who had been trapped inside the cabin. All four injured victims were immediately transported to the hospital, reportedly in critical condition. The collision left the front of the truck severely deformed, with the motorbike trapped underneath its chassis.

Leaders from Con Tien commune stated that the cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
