Vietnam's northern region is currently influenced by a weakening cold air mass moving eastward. From now until the end of 31/12, the weather will be mostly cloudy with early morning fog. Daytime high temperatures will range from 23-26 degrees Celsius, with lows between 17-20 degrees Celsius.
Around 1/1/2026, a new cold snap is expected to hit the northern region, bringing rain back to the Northeast. Minimum temperatures in the North will drop to 14-17 degrees Celsius from the night of the first day of 2026, with mountainous areas seeing temperatures below 13 degrees Celsius.

Accuweather, a US-based weather service, forecasts Hanoi's temperatures for the first two days of next week to be 16-23 degrees Celsius, rising to 18-26 degrees Celsius by mid-week. High-altitude areas above 1,500 meters, such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), will experience temperatures of 9-17 degrees Celsius next week.
The central region, from now until the end of 2025, will generally experience cloudy weather. Coastal areas from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have rain at night and in the morning, followed by sunny days. High temperatures in provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue on the last day of the year and early 2026 will be 23-26 degrees Celsius, with lows of 17-20 degrees Celsius.
Provinces from Da Nang to Quang Ngai will see highs of 23-27 degrees Celsius and lows of 21-25 degrees Celsius. In the eastern parts of Gia Lai - Lam Dong provinces, highs will reach 27-30 degrees Celsius, with lows between 21-25 degrees Celsius.
From the night of 1/1/2026, influenced by the cold air mass pushing south from the north, northeast winds interacting with the windward terrain of the Truong Son mountain range will bring prolonged thunderstorms to the North Central and Central regions until 3/1. High temperatures from Thanh Hoa to Hue will be 20-23 degrees Celsius, with lows of 17-20 degrees Celsius.
Provinces from Da Nang to Quang Ngai will have highs of 23-27 degrees Celsius and lows of 20-22 degrees Celsius. The eastern parts of Gia Lai - Lam Dong provinces will experience highs of 27-30 degrees Celsius and lows of 22-24 degrees Celsius.
The Southern region and the Central Highlands, from now until the end of 2025 and into early 2026, will remain dry. Nighttime temperatures in the Central Highlands will generally stay below 20 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius. In the Southern region, lows will be below 25 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs below 34 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) on the first day of 2026 will range from 21-32 degrees Celsius. Can Tho will see 19-30 degrees Celsius, and Phu Quoc (An Giang) 24-30 degrees Celsius.
