Around 10 a.m., Tran Do Anh, 26, was driving a Ca Mau-registered truck from the Dam Cung bridge slope, turning right onto the road leading to the market to pick up goods. As he passed under the welcome arch in Dam Cung hamlet, the truck's container caught the crossbar connecting the two pillars, causing the structure to collapse.

At the scene, debris was scattered on the ground, with a section of concrete and the iron frame hanging from the middle of a pillar. Some vehicles had to stop due to the obstruction caused by the truck and the debris.

Commune authorities dispatched personnel to assess the incident and manage traffic. After discussions with authorities, the driver agreed to cover all costs for cleanup and repairs.

Nguyen Bac Ai, chairman of the Cai Nuoc Commune People's Committee, said the arch was located on the approximately one-kilometer road leading to the market. It was built in 2018 and belonged to the former Tran Thoi commune.
