Around 5 a.m., a fire broke out in a 50-square-meter single-story house on Street 15, Long Binh ward. Several occupants escaped and called for help from neighbors, but their efforts to extinguish the flames were unsuccessful.
The fire rapidly intensified, trapping the homeowner's 23-year-old son and his 20-year-old girlfriend in a bedroom.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes. Upon forcing entry into the house's bathroom, they discovered the two victims deceased.
A representative from the Long Binh ward People's Committee (UBND) said the fire originated in the bedroom. The victims likely sought refuge in the bathroom but succumbed to smoke inhalation.
