Two former Bac Giang provincial leaders reprimanded

The prime minister decided to issue a reprimand against two former leaders of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee: Nguyen Van Linh and Lai Thanh Son.

According to the prime minister's decision on 14/7, Nguyen Van Linh, former chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee, and Lai Thanh Son, former standing vice chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee, received a reprimand. The disciplinary period began on 22/5/2026.

Previously, at its 6th session in 5/2026, the Central Inspection Committee concluded that the two individuals violated Party regulations and state laws in performing their assigned duties. They also violated regulations on corruption prevention, waste, and negative practices, as well as rules for Party members and their responsibility to set an example.

The Central Inspection Committee determined that the violations by both individuals, along with others, caused serious consequences, negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization, the locality, and the agencies and units where they worked, necessitating disciplinary action. Consequently, the committee decided to issue a Party reprimand to Nguyen Van Linh and Lai Thanh Son.

Nguyen Van Linh, 67, is from Bac Giang province (now part of Bac Ninh province). He served as chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee from 4/2015 to 12/2019.
