Two killed in bus collision

Two men on a motorbike died after colliding with a bus on Highway 1 around noon on 4/8.

Around 12:07, Hong Nga, 57, and Vo Van Bay, 55, residents of O Loan commune, were traveling north on Highway 1 on a motorbike.

As they reached Phong Phu village, also in O Loan commune, the motorbike turned across the highway and collided with a Quang Phon passenger bus driven by 53-year-old Nguyen Van Toan. The bus, carrying 30 passengers, was traveling in the same direction.

The impact killed both men on the motorbike instantly. The motorbike was mangled and thrown a considerable distance. The bus crashed into the median barrier, damaging its front. The bus driver and passengers were unharmed.

A toxicology test showed that Toan, the bus driver, tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
