Midday on 24/9, water from the Thao River and irrigation reservoirs flowed into Song May hamlet, Binh Minh commune, submerging hundreds of homes by nearly one meter and isolating residents. Fearing rising water levels, many people moved their belongings and livestock to higher ground.

Floodwaters submerged homes and a fish farm in Song May hamlet. Residents used boats to move around. Tran Thi Thuy stated that the water, which began rising on 23/9, had not receded, causing many indoor assets to get wet and threatening a pig farm with over 100 animals.

By the afternoon of 24/9, many areas throughout Binh Minh commune remained heavily flooded. "The water rose quickly, catching many residents off guard; many belongings got wet, and we just have to wait for the water to recede to get them repaired," said Lan, a resident of Song May hamlet.

The Binh Minh Commune People's Committee mobilized vehicles and dozens of officials and soldiers to assist residents in moving assets and livestock due to the complex flood risk.

Residents used nets to enclose their fish ponds, but the water swept them away. "It's been many years since we've seen such severe flooding; my family had just stocked fish, and they were all washed away, causing about 40 million dong in damages," said Thao, a resident of Binh Minh commune.

This afternoon, the water on DT 767 road through Binh Minh commune receded, but vehicle movement remained difficult. Water surrounded both sides of the road, deeply flooding homes and disrupting daily life.

Heavy rains over several days caused DT 765 road to flood severely for over 200 m through Binh Minh commune. Water still remains deep, causing many vehicles to stall.

About 15 km from Binh Minh commune, rising water from the Buong River deeply submerged dozens of households in Phuoc Tan ward.

Authorities were stationed at areas with strong currents to help residents cross safely. By this afternoon, the water had largely receded, though some low-lying areas remained partially flooded.
